Born on October 25, 1969, in Akron, New York, Webster grew up with a passion for music, driven by an innate desire to play. He began his musical journey as a drummer, inspired by the likes of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. However, it wasn't until he joined the band Beyond Death in 1987, alongside future Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen, that he discovered his true calling as a bassist.
In 1988, Webster, along with Owen, Chris Barnes, Bob Rusay, and Paul Mazurkiewicz, formed Cannibal Corpse, with Webster being the brainchild behind the band's name. In an interview, he recalled, "I thought it was a very catchy name for a band." Little did he know that this name would become synonymous with brutality, gore, and sonic devastation.
In addition to his work with Cannibal Corpse, Webster has explored other musical avenues. He recorded bass for Hate Eternal, the death metal band founded by Erik Rutan, and collaborated with guitarist Ron Jarzombek on the instrumental extreme metal project Blotted Science. Their debut album, The Machinations of Dementia, was released in 2007.
Webster currently resides in Oregon with his wife. Despite being raised in a Protestant, Methodist upbringing, he identifies as agnostic. When asked about his relationship with music, he humbly stated, "I just always liked music since I was a little kid. Music was always a soundtrack in my head to things going on in my life. I always wanted to play."
