Born on October 18, 1974, in Mumbai, Amish Tripathi spent his childhood near Rourkela, Odisha. He is an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Lovedale, Cathedral and John Connon School, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Before donning the hat of an author, Tripathi worked in the financial services industry for 14 years, with stints in organizations like Standard Chartered Bank, IDBI Bank, Development Bank of Singapore, and IDBI Federal Life Insurance. His experience in the corporate world laid the foundation for his future writing endeavors.
The Immortals of Meluha, Tripathi's debut novel and first in the Shiva Trilogy, was published in February 2010. This marked the beginning of his writing career, which would go on to earn him widespread recognition and acclaim. The subsequent books in the series, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras, were released in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
