Antero Manninen, born on January 19, 1973, is a renowned session musician and former member of the Finnish cello metal quartet Apocalyptica. Known for his calm and seated playing style, Manninen earned the nickname "Mr. Cool" among band members, contrasting sharply with the headbanging antics of his fellow musicians on stage.
Manninen joined Apocalyptica in the late 1990s, contributing to the band's unique sound and style. Although he didn't write the music, his presence was instrumental in shaping the band's early years. Due to prior commitments, Manninen left the band in 1999, but has since returned to help out on several occasions.
Beyond his work with Apocalyptica, Manninen has an impressive background in classical music.
