Anton Rogan is a former professional footballer from Northern Ireland, best known for his impressive playing career that spanned over a decade, featuring notable spells at Celtic, Sunderland, and Oxford United, as well as 18 international appearances for the Northern Ireland national team.
Rogan's professional journey began at Lisburn Distillery, before achieving his boyhood dream of signing for Celtic in 1986. He made his first-team debut on January 3, 1987, and went on to become an integral part of the team, playing at left full-back or occasionally as a left-side centre-half.
One of the most significant achievements of his career came in 1988 when he was part of Celtic's Centenary side that won the League and Cup Double. After retiring from football, Rogan settled in Oxford with his wife and two sons, Liam and Conal. Despite facing hamstring injuries towards the end of his career, which were later discovered to be a result of two broken leg injuries early in his career, Rogan remains a beloved figure in the football community.
