Bartosz Kapustka is a Polish professional footballer known for his exceptional skills as a midfielder, currently playing for Ekstraklasa club Legia Warsaw. With his impressive debut at the young age of 16, Kapustka has been making waves in the football world, representing his country Poland in various international tournaments.
Born on 23 December 1996, Kapustka began his football journey with Cracovia, where he was promoted to the first team squad in October 2012. His talent was soon recognized, and he was signed by Premier League club Leicester City in August 2016 for a reported £7.5 million.
Kapustka cited manager Claudio Ranieri as his motivation for joining the club, although Ranieri admitted he was unsure when Kapustka would be ready to play in the Premier League. Having already played for the Leicester Under-23s, a loan move was not possible due to FIFA rules prohibiting a player from appearing for three clubs in one season.
Kapustka finally made his senior debut for Leicester in a 2-1 FA Cup third-round win against Everton on 7 January 2017, coming on as an 84th-minute substitute for Marc Albrighton. He made his full debut in a 3-1 FA Cup fourth-round replay win over Derby County on 8 February 2017, playing in a central attacking role behind striker Ahmed Musa.
In July 2017, Kapustka joined Bundesliga club SC Freiburg on loan for the 2017-2018 season, with the option to sign him permanently for a transfer fee of €5 million. The following season, he joined Belgian First Division B club OH Leuven on loan for the 2018-2019 season.
On 7 September 2015, Kapustka made his debut appearance for the Poland national team in a match against Gibraltar, substituting Jakub Baszczykowski. He scored his first goal for the national team on his debut, making an impressive start to his international career.
In the buildup to the Euro 2016, Kapustka was included in the provisional squad, further solidifying his position as a rising star in Polish football.
Kapustka's rise to fame has inspired many young Polish footballers, demonstrating that with hard work and dedication, it is possible to reach the top levels of the sport. His success has also contributed to the growth of football in Poland, increasing interest and investment in the sport.
As a talented and dedicated footballer, Bartosz Kapustka continues to make his mark on the football world, both domestically and internationally. With his impressive skills and work ethic, there is no doubt that he will remain a key player in the world of football for years to come.
