Benot Trluyer is a French professional racing driver, renowned for his exceptional skills in endurance racing, particularly in the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours. With a storied career spanning over two decades, Trluyer has established himself as one of the most successful and versatile drivers in the world of motorsport.
Trluyer's motorsport journey began in motocross and karting before transitioning to single-seaters in Formula Renault Campus in 1995. He showcased his potential by securing a race win in the French Formula Renault championship in 1996 and finishing sixth overall in 1997. The following year, he moved up to domestic F3, where he finished ninth overall in his rookie season and third in 1999, claiming the European Formula Three Cup at the Pau Circuit in the process.
In 2000, Trluyer relocated to Asia to contest the Japanese F3 category, which he won in 2001 with an impressive 15 wins and 13 pole positions from 19 races. He also finished second in the Macau GP and third in the F3 World Cup in Korea. Trluyer then graduated to Formula Nippon in 2002, where he finished second overall in 2003 and went on to claim the title in 2006 with four wins from nine races.
During his time in Formula Nippon, Trluyer also competed in Japan's Super GT category, debuting in 2001 with a Dome Project Honda NSX. He drove for Nissan-backed teams for ten years, winning the title in 2008 alongside codriver Satoshi Motoyama and finishing as runner-up in 2011.
In 2002, Trluyer made his Le Mans 24 Hours debut, claiming a GT class podium in the Chrysler Viper he shared with fellow countrymen Jonathan Cochet and Jean-Philippe Belloc. He returned to the race in 2004 to contest the premier LMP1 class with the legendary French outfit Pescarolo Sport, taking a best finish of fifth.
Trluyer's continued success in endurance racing led to him joining the factory Audi squad in 2012, where he hassince become an integral part of the team. He has secured multiple podiums and victories, including a win at the 2011 Spa 24 Hours and a second-place finish at the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours.
