Bibiana Candelas Ramírez is a renowned Mexican beach volleyball and indoor volleyball player, celebrated for her outstanding performances on the international stage, including her representation of Mexico at the 2008 Olympics alongside her beach partner, Mayra García.
Born on December 2, 1983, in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, Candelas graduated from Colegio Ponceño in Puerto Rico in 2002. She attended Preparatoria Luzac in Torreón as a freshman and sophomore before joining the University of Southern California (USC).
During her time at USC, Candelas played as a middle blocker from 2002 to 2005 and earned three All-American titles. She was instrumental in helping her team win the 2002 and 2003 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship, as well as a final four appearance in 2004. Candelas was also an eight-year member of the Mexico women's national volleyball team from 1997 to 2004.
Candelas played for Leonas de Ponce in 2002. After her successful Olympic debut, she continued to participate in various international competitions, inspiring a new generation of Mexican volleyball players.
