Birgitta Haukdal, known simply as Birgitta, is a renowned Icelandic singer who rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the pop band Á Móti Sól (Against the Sun). Born on July 28, 1979, in the picturesque northern region of Iceland, Birgitta's musical journey began when she replaced the lead singer of Á Móti Sól in November 1999. The band's debut single "Hvar er g?" (Where am I?) was released in the summer of 2000, followed by two more singles in 2001.
In 2002, Á Móti Sól signed a recording contract with Iceland's largest record company, Skífan, and released their first album "Allt sem Gís" (All I See) in early November, which became the country's fastest-selling pop album of the last 25 years, earning platinum status.
