Bubba Franks, an American former professional football player, is renowned for his exceptional skills as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. With his impressive college career and subsequent success in the NFL, Franks earned himself a reputation as one of the best tight ends of his time.

Early Life and College Career

Born on January 6, 1978, in Big Spring, Texas, Franks attended Big Spring High School, where he was an all-state tight end. He then went on to play collegiate football at the University of Miami, where he became known for his extraordinary one-handed receptions. During his time at the University of Miami, Franks set the record for most touchdowns by a tight end with 12 and was named to the All-Big East team twice and an All-American in 1999.

Professional Career

Green Bay Packers

Franks was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2000 NFL draft with the 14th overall pick. In his second NFL year, he reached the Pro Bowl, where he caught nine touchdown passes. He went on to attend three Pro Bowls altogether (2001, 2002, and 2003). However, Franks' career was plagued by injuries, and he was eventually released by the Packers on February 20, 2008.

New York Jets

On March 16, 2008, Franks agreed to terms with the New York Jets on a one-year deal. Unfortunately, he was released on July 13, 2009, due to a lack of productivity.

NFL Statistics

Throughout his career, Franks played in 104 games, starting 73 of them. He caught 262 passes for 2,901 yards and 24 touchdowns.
