During his final junior season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Addison was traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Jason Zucker on February 10, 2020. He made his NHL debut on February 16, 2021, in the Wild's 4-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. On November 8, 2023, Addison was traded to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Adam Raska and a 2026 fifth-round pick.

International Career

Addison has represented Canada at the international level since 2017, participating in several tournaments and championships. His first stint with Team Canada was at the 2016 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, where he won a silver medal.
