Born on November 30, 1980, in Edirne, Turkey, Adrian grew up in a family of Bosniak descent. His father was a merchant, and his mother was a housewife. He adopted the stage name "Cem Adrian" after Adrianople, the ancient name of Edirne. Adrian's musical journey began when he met renowned pianist Fazıl Say through Demet Sarelo, which led to his enrollment in Bilkent University's Department of Performing Arts.
In 2003, Adrian worked as a soloist and dancer for the group Mystica, marking the beginning of his professional music career. His debut album, Ben Bu Şarkıyı Sana Yazdım, released in 2005, featured songs written and recorded by Adrian between 1997 and 2003 in Edirne. This album was a precursor to his subsequent success, which included the release of Ak Bu Gece Şehri Terk Etti in 2006, featuring 13 self-written songs.
Adrian's subsequent albums, Sekiler Essentials and Emir, released in 2008, showcased his versatility as a musician. He collaborated with artists Umay Umay, Denizhan, and Suicide, and even ventured into film, producing the music for Abdullah Ouz's film Çak. Adrian's eclectic style continued to evolve, as evident in his 2015 single album, İlk ve Son Kez, and his 2016 album, Sekiler 2.
