A trailblazing female wrestler and manager who broke barriers in the male-dominated world of professional wrestling, known for her fierce in-ring performances and backstage politics.
Cherry, born Kara Elizabeth Drew, is an American professional wrestler and valet, best known for her tantalizing performances and managing skills in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
With her striking looks and fiery personality, Cherry became an instant fan favorite, particularly during her tenure as the manager of the former Tag Team Champions, Deuce 'n' Domino.
Born on July 15, 1975, in Morristown, New Jersey, Cherry grew up with a passion for professional wrestling. Inspired by legends like Miss Elizabeth and Macho Man Randy Savage, she never thought she'd get the opportunity to step into the ring herself.
However, fate had other plans. One of her coworkers was related to the founder of Stars and Stripes Championship Wrestling, where she debuted under the ring name Miss Kara in 1999.
Cherry's big break came in 2005 when she was assigned to WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), in Louisville, Kentucky. During her time at OVW, she adopted the ring name Cherry Pie and managed the group known as The ThrowBacks, later renamed The Untouchables, consisting of Deuce Shade and Dice Domino.
Under Cherry's guidance, The Untouchables secured three reigns as OVW Southern Tag Team Champions. This impressive feat led to Cherry and her team being called up to the SmackDown roster in January 2007, where they underwent a name change to Deuce 'n' Domino.
The partnership proved to be a winning formula, as Cherry managed Deuce 'n' Domino to a WWE Tag Team Championship title reign. This achievement cemented Cherry's status as a formidable force in the wrestling world.
In April 2008, Cherry made her WWE singles debut, marking a new chapter in her career. Although she eventually parted ways with Deuce and Domino the following month, Cherry continued to compete in singles and tag team matches, leaving an indelible mark on the wrestling landscape.
Despite being released from her WWE contract in August 2008, Cherry's impact on the world of professional wrestling remains undeniable. Her legacy serves as a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and a dash of sass.
As the curtain closes on Cherry's in-ring career, her storied past and unforgettable persona ensure her place in the annals of wrestling history.
