Babb was born on February 14, 1990, in Kansas, and later moved to Arlington, Texas, where his father started a barbecue business. He attended The Oakridge School, where he demonstrated his basketball prowess, averaging 31.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and setting a school record of 1,125 points in his senior year.

College Career

Babb played college basketball for Pennsylvania State University and Iowa State University. In his freshman season at Penn State, he played sparingly, averaging 2.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 10 minutes per game. However, in his sophomore season, he showed improvement, becoming the third-highest assist provider and second-highest 3-point shooter on the team.

After transferring to Iowa State University, Babb had a successful junior season, ranking 10th in the Big 12 in 3-pointers per game. Despite being suspended for two games in his senior season, he went on to be named to the 2013 Big 12 All-Defensive Team, showcasing his defensive skills.
