Corey Crawford, affectionately known as "Crow" by teammates and fans, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who made a lasting impact on the National Hockey League (NHL) during his illustrious career with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Crawford's professional journey began when the Blackhawks selected him in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play his entire professional career with the team, earning two Stanley Cup championships (2013 and 2015) and two William M. Jennings Trophies along the way.
Before joining the Blackhawks, Crawford honed his skills with the Midget AAA Gatineau Intrépides and later with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Crawford's impressive performance earned him a spot on the QMJHL's Second All-Star Team twice (2003-2004 and 2004-2005). The Wildcats recognized his achievements by retiring his No. 29 jersey on November 24, 2023.
From 2005 to 2010, Crawford spent time in the American Hockey League (AHL), playing for the Norfolk Admirals and Rockford IceHogs, the Blackhawks' AHL affiliates. During this period, he appeared in 255 AHL games, fine-tuning his skills and preparing for his eventual NHL debut.
In 2006, Crawford made his NHL debut for the Blackhawks, marking the beginning of a remarkable 14-year journey with the team.
