Daniel Pearson is a talented English actor and presenter, best known for his iconic role as Rick Barber in the BAFTA-winning British children's television series, Tracy Beaker Returns and its spinoff, The Dumping Ground. With a career spanning over a decade, Pearson has captivated audiences with his charming on-screen presence and impressive acting skills.
Pearson's journey in the world of acting began in 2010, when he landed his first role as young Chris Winter in the detective television show, Vera. This early start paved the way for his breakthrough role in 2012, when he starred as main character Rick Barber in Tracy Beaker Returns, a comedy-drama series that follows the lives of children in care.
Pearson's portrayal of Rick Barber earned him widespread recognition, and he went on to co-present the BAFTA award-winning British children's entertainment television programme, Friday Download, in 2012 and 2013. His success in Tracy Beaker Returns led to the creation of the spinoff series, The Dumping Ground, where Pearson reprised his role as Rick Barber. The show won a BAFTA for Best Children's Drama in 2013.
In addition to his work on The Dumping Ground, Pearson had a recurring role as Luke Salter in the soap opera, Emmerdale, in 2013. He also starred in the second series of The Dumping Ground, which aired from January to March 2014.
Originally from Darlington, Pearson moved to Tadcaster in North Yorkshire with his family at the age of 3, where he grew up with his brother Adam. He developed an interest in acting at the age of 12 and joined the Kreative talent agency, which led to his first TV role in Vera. Despite announcing his return to acting in 2015, Pearson has not appeared in any TV shows or movies since, leaving fans to speculate about his current pursuits.
