Born on August 2, 1978, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Emberas began his football journey with local club FK Algiris in 1996. His talent soon took him to Russia, where he joined Dynamo Moscow, making 88 appearances and scoring two goals. In 2002, he switched to rival club CSKA Moscow, where he spent the next decade, winning four Russian Premier League titles and six Russian Cups.
The pinnacle of Emberas' career came in 2005 when CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup, defeating Sporting CP 3-1 in the final. He was also named Lithuanian Footballer of the Year in 2005 by the Lithuanian Football Federation.
In 2012, Emberas moved to Alania Vladikavkaz, but after the club's relegation, he returned to FK Algiris in 2014.
