Deryck Whibley, also known as Bizzy D, is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and producer, best recognized as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and keyboardist of the punk rock band Sum 41.
Formed in 1996, Sum 41 rose to fame with their debut album All Killer No Filler, which featured the hit single "Fat Lip," a song that topped the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and remains the band's most successful single to date.
Whibley was born on March 21, 1980, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He began his music career by forming the band Kaspir, a NOFX cover band, with friends Grant McVittie and Jon Marshall. In 1999, the band signed an international record deal with Island Records and changed their name to Sum 41.
Sum 41's debut EP, Half Hour of Power, released in 2000, was followed by All Killer No Filler in 2001. The album was certified platinum in the United States, Canada, and the UK, and the band went on to release six more studio albums: Does This Look Infected? (2002), Chuck (2004), Underclass Hero (2007), Screaming Bloody Murder (2011), 13 Voices (2016), and Order in Decline (2019).
