A NASCAR driver who competed in the Xfinity Series and Gander Outdoors Truck Series, known for his short track racing skills.
Dexter Bean is a professional stock car racing driver and crew chief, known for his impressive skills behind the wheel and under the hood. He has made a name for himself in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro SS for DGM Racing, and occasionally crew chiefing for the team as well.
Bean's passion for racing began at the young age of 10, when he started competing in go-kart races. By 16, he had made the transition to stock cars, driving for his family-owned team, BlackJack Racing. The team was named after his father, David, who had used his winnings from a Las Vegas gambling trip to start the team.
Bean honed his skills in late model competition at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway, before moving on to regional touring competition in the Wisconsin Challenge Series and the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Series Midwest Division.
In 2005, Bean made his debut in the ARCA ReMax Series, driving for Andy Hillenburg in the season-opener at Daytona. Later that year, his family started their own team, BlackJack Racing, and Bean competed for them between 2005 and 2007. He posted a best points finish of third at the end of the 2007 season.
In 2006, Bean ran a single Busch Series race for Spraker Racing Enterprises, and rejoined the team for the 2008 ARCA season, driving the No. 37 Glock Chevrolet. Although he dropped to 11th in points that year, it was clear that Bean was a force to be reckoned with in the racing world.
In 2009, Bean made the jump to the NASCAR Cup Series, although he only competed part-time. He also tested a Craftsman Truck Series truck for Germain Racing in 2007, but never made any starts.
Today, Bean continues to compete part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro SS for DGM Racing, and occasionally crew chiefing for the team. He also owns and operates his own team, BlackJack Racing, which competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Bean's passion for racing is matched only by his dedication to his family and team. He credits his family for their unwavering support throughout his career, and is proud to have his own team, BlackJack Racing, as a way to give back to the racing community.
When he's not on the track, Bean enjoys spending time with his loved ones and pursuing his other passions, including hunting and the outdoors.
Dexter Bean is an inspiration to young racers everywhere, proof that hard work and determination can take you to the top. As he continues to compete and innovate in the world of stock car racing, it's clear that his legacy will be felt for years to come.
