Dr. Chud attended Lodi High School in New Jersey, where he first discovered his passion for music. His career began in the late 1980s, playing with Dan Kidney and the Pulsations for seven years. During this time, he also recorded an album with Sacred Trash, a horror punk band that would later influence his work with the Misfits.
In the mid-1990s, Dr. Chud joined the Misfits, a horror punk band that had been a major influence on the genre since the 1970s. With the Misfits, Dr. Chud recorded three studio albums, including American Psycho, Famous Monsters, and Cuts from the Crypt. He also contributed to several singles, including "Dig Up Her Bones" and "Scream". Dr. Chud's work with the Misfits cemented his reputation as one of the most talented and sought-after horror punk drummers of his generation.
After leaving the Misfits in 2000, Dr. Chud went on to form his own band, Graves, with former Misfits bassist, Michale Graves. He also collaborated with Joey Ramone on his solo album, Dont Worry About Me, and produced a release for Sardonica. In 2003, Dr. Chud formed Dr. Chud's X-Ward, which released its debut album, Diagnosis for Death, in 2004.
In 2010, Dr. Chud appeared on the television series LA Ink, starring Kat Von D. He received a tattoo of his famous stitches, which he usually draws on his chest and back, circling his neck, by tattoo artist Amy Nicoletto.
