Vujoevi was born on March 3, 1959, in Titograd (modern-day Podgorica), PR Montenegro, FPR Yugoslavia, to parents from the Kuči region in Podgorica. His family moved to Belgrade when he was just five years old. He began his coaching career at the tender age of 17 in 1976, working with various junior teams in Partizan's youth system.
Vujoevi's big break came in 1985 when he returned to Partizan as an assistant to head coach Vladislav Lui.
