Eric M. Ghiaciuc is a former American football center who made a name for himself in the National Football League (NFL) as a stalwart on the field, earning recognition for his impressive skills and determination. Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Ghiaciuc's professional career spanned several teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.

Early Life and College Career

Ghiaciuc's journey to stardom began at Oxford High School, where he excelled in three sports: football, wrestling, and track and field. At Central Michigan University, Ghiaciuc was part of an exceptional offensive line that generated 105 touchdowns over three years. Initially redshirted in 2000, he saw limited action in 2001 before taking over as the starting center in 2002, starting 37 consecutive games for the Chippewas. Ghiaciuc graduated with a 3.30 GPA in Industrial Education.

Professional Career

Ghiaciuc's big break came when the Cincinnati Bengals selected him in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. His college teammate, Adam Kieft, was also drafted in the fifth round. Paul Alexander, the Bengals' offensive line coach and assistant head coach, had previously attended Central Michigan University.

Ghiaciuc made his NFL debut and secured his first career start against the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 9, 2005. Although he only played in five games during his rookie season, he went on to start 12 of the final 13 games in 2006, following an injury to Rich Braham in Week 2. Over the next two seasons, Ghiaciuc started 12 games in 2007 and all 16 games in 2008 for the Bengals.

In 2009, Ghiaciuc signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent, but was waived on September 4. He later joined the San Diego Chargers on December 22, 2009.
