The Catania and Perugia Years

In 2000, Delvecchio joined Calcio Catania, where he was loaned to F.C. Catanzaro and later to S.S. Sambenedettese Calcio. His performances at Sambenedettese earned him a return to Catania, and subsequently, a move to Perugia. Despite Perugia's bankruptcy in 2005, Delvecchio's skills caught the attention of U.C. Sampdoria, who offered him a contract.
