Galli's WRC debut came in 1998 at the San Remo Rally, where he drove a Group N Mitsubishi Carisma GT. However, it wasn't until 2004 that he got his first taste of a WRC car at the Monte Carlo Rally. The following year, Galli drove for Mitsubishi, competing in 13 events and finishing 11th in the drivers' championship.
