Born on October 28, 1995, in Tampere, Finland, to refugee parents from Sierra Leone, Kamara's early life was marked by a love for football. Raised in Soukka, Espoo, until the age of 12, he moved to London, England, with his mother and sister, where he continued to nurture his passion for the sport.
Kamara's youth career began in England, where he played for Sunday side Westway, before moving to the Southend United youth system and eventually joining Arsenal in 2012. He made his only appearance for Arsenal in the Football League Cup fourth round against Sheffield Wednesday in 2015, and later returned to Southend on loan for the rest of the season.
After 18 months at Dundee, Kamara joined Scottish Premiership side Rangers for £50,000, where he made a significant impact and was named to the PFA Scotland Team of the Year when they won the league title in 2020-21.
