Glenn Howerton is an American actor, writer, producer, and podcaster, best known for his iconic portrayal of Dennis Reynolds on the long-running sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a show he co-developed with Rob McElhenney.
Born on April 13, 1976, in Japan to American parents Janice and Glenn Franklin Howerton Jr., Glenn's early life was marked by frequent relocations due to his father's career as a fighter pilot. He spent his childhood in various places, including Arizona, New Mexico, England, Virginia, South Korea, and Alabama, before settling in Montgomery, Alabama.
Howerton attended Jefferson Davis High School and later moved to Miami, where he spent two years at New World School of the Arts of Miami Dade College. In 1996, he entered Juilliard School's Drama Division in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000 as part of Group 29.
Howerton's breakout role came in 2002 when he starred as Corey Howard in That '80s Show. He went on to guest star in various TV shows, including ER, and appeared in films such as Must Love Dogs, Serenity, Two Weeks, and The Strangers.
However, it was his collaboration with Rob McElhenney on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia that catapulted him to fame.
