He later collaborated with R&B artist Bobby Brown on the chart-topping hit "She Ain't Worth It" in 1990, solidifying his status as a global pop sensation.
After his music career peaked, Medeiros turned his attention to education, teaching and serving as vice principal at the Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He later became a professor at Chaminade University, a private Marianist university. In 2015, he took on the role of Head of School/Principal of Saint Louis School in Honolulu, and in 2017, he became its president/CEO.
Medeiros was born on June 24, 1970, in Lihue, Hawaii, and raised in Lawai. He is a devout Catholic and of Portuguese ancestry. He has been married to his wife, Tammy Armstrong, since 1996, and they have two children, Chord Kaleohone Medeiros (born 2000) and Lyric Leolani Medeiros (born 2001), who appeared on Season 21 of American Idol. Medeiros attended Leeward Community College, transferred to the University of Hawaii – West Oahu, and later earned a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Phoenix in 2003. He received his doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern California in 2014.
