Jacki MacDonald, born Jenine MacDonald on November 26, 1953, is a renowned Australian television personality from Blackall, Queensland, who later transitioned to radio broadcasting. She is best known for her charismatic presence on various local programs in the 1970s, including her own show, Jacki and all that Jazz, on QTQ9 and the daily breakfast program, The Jacki Mac Show, on TVQ0.
MacDonald's popularity in her home state of Queensland led to her becoming a household name. In 1978, she replaced Daryl Somers and puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich on GTV9's The Super Saturday Show. Later, she joined Somers as co-presenter of the revival of Hey Hey It's Saturday, a role she maintained for nine years. During this time, MacDonald was frequently the subject of good-natured jokes, often accompanied by the tune "Folks Are Dumb Where I Come From," a reference to her Queensland roots.
MacDonald's talents were recognized with several TV Week Logie Awards for Most Popular Female Personality in Queensland during the 1970s and 1980s.
