James Hickman is a name synonymous with excellence in the world of competitive swimming. This English swimming sensation is a five-time World Champion, twice a World Record holder, Commonwealth Champion, and four-time European Champion, specializing in the 200m butterfly event.
Hickman's impressive swimming career spanned over a decade, during which he represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA World Championships, and European Championships, as well as England in the Commonwealth Games. His remarkable achievements in the 200m butterfly event earned him the reputation of being one of the greatest butterfly swimmers of all time.
Hickman's Olympic journey began in the 1996 Atlanta Games, where he placed 7th in the 200m butterfly. He went on to participate in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, finishing 6th in the same event. His final Olympic appearance was in the 2004 Athens Olympics, where he reached the semifinal of the 100m butterfly.
