In 1967, Fielder joined forces with Al Kooper, Steve Katz, and Bobby Colomby to form Blood, Sweat, and Tears, a band that would go on to revolutionize the jazz-rock scene. With Fielder's melodic bass lines and the band's unique blend of rock, jazz, and pop, they released their debut album, Child Is Father to the Man, in 1968. Although the album received critical acclaim, it was their sophomore effort, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, that catapulted them to fame, earning them a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1970.
