Early Life and Education>

Jimmy Pop was born on August 27, 1972, in Trappe, Pennsylvania, to Alice Ann and Richard Lee Franks. He is of German and Native American heritage, with Jewish ancestry. He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School in 1990 and studied mass communication and history at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he met future Bloodhound Gang bassist Jared Hennegan.

In 1992, Pop and Daddy Long Legs started the Bloodhound Gang, which initially began as a hip-hop group but eventually transitioned into an alternative rock band.
