Born on March 30, 1958, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Sindelar spent most of his life in Horseheads, New York. Sindelar's exceptional golf skills earned him a spot at Ohio State University, where he became a distinguished member of the school's golf team.
During his time at Ohio State, Sindelar achieved incredible success, including three All-American titles, a member of the 1979 NCAA Championship team, and Ohio State's Athlete of the Year in 1981.
