John Corabi is a name synonymous with hard rock music, having fronted some of the most iconic bands in the genre, including Mötley Crüe and The Scream. With a career spanning over three decades, Corabi has earned a reputation as a versatile and talented musician, capable of collaborating with a wide range of established acts.
Born on April 26, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Corabi is of Italian descent, with familial roots in Sicily and Calabria. Growing up, he was heavily influenced by the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones, which would later shape his own musical style.
In the late 1980s, Corabi formed The Scream, a hard rock band that would eventually lead to his big break. During this period, he also collaborated with other notable acts, including Angora and ESP, featuring former Kiss lead guitarist Bruce Kulick.
In 1992, Corabi replaced Vince Neil as the frontman of Mötley Crüe, one of the most iconic rock bands of the time. During his tenure, he recorded the self-titled Mötley Crüe album in 1994, which, although heavier and more elaborate than previous releases, failed to match the commercial success of the band's earlier work.
After leaving Mötley Crüe, Corabi continued to collaborate with various bands, including Ratt, Twenty 4 Seven, and Zen Lunatic. In 2015, he joined the supergroup The Dead Daisies, alongside musicians from Whitesnake, Guns N' Roses, and Motörhead.
In 2022, Corabi released his autobiography, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, offering a candid look at his life and career. He is currently finalizing a solo album, set for release in the near future.
