Lescott was born on August 16, 1982, in Birmingham, West Midlands. Growing up in the Quinton area of the city, he attended Four Dwellings High School. A freak accident at the age of five left him with severe head injuries and scarring on his forehead and hairline.
Lescott's professional journey began with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he graduated from the youth academy. He made his first-team debut in the 2000-01 season against Sheffield Wednesday at Molineux. During his time at Wolves, he won the Supporters' Young Player of the Year award twice and was a regular player as the club won promotion to the Premier League in 2003.
