Born on April 5, 1977, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Erlich moved to Haifa, Israel, at the age of one and began playing tennis at just three years old. He played his first tournament at seven and later trained at the Wingate Institute, where he met his future doubles partner, Andy Ram. Erlich turned pro in 1996 at the age of 19.
Erlich's partnership with Andy Ram, known as "Andyoni," led to numerous successes, including reaching 44 doubles finals and winning 22 of them. Their most notable achievement was winning the 2008 Australian Open men's doubles title. They also reached the semifinals of the Wimbledon championships in 2003, becoming the first Israelis to advance to the semifinals in a Grand Slam event.
Following his retirement, Erlich joined the nonprofit Israel Tennis Education Centers (ITEC) as the Director of High-Performance Program in 2023. In this role, he is responsible for developing competitive tennis players from all backgrounds throughout Israel, with an emphasis on distributing resources and identifying talent in underserved and remote areas of the country.
