Marchant's journey to track cycling stardom began as a heptathlete, representing Great Britain at the 2012 World Junior Championships. But it was her former coach, Toni Minichiello (best known for coaching Jessica Ennis), who spotted her potential in cycling, suggesting she make the switch after seeing her impressive power output on a Wattbike test. With no prior experience in track cycling, Marchant began a 6-week trial period, which eventually led to her permanent switch to the sport in April 2013.

Rise to Prominence

• In 2013, Marchant joined British Cycling's Olympic Academy, later graduating to the Olympic Development Programme in November 2013.
• At the 2015 British National Track Championships, she won an impressive four national titles: the 500m time trial, Sprint, Keirin, and Team Sprint.
• Marchant added to her tally of national titles at the 2018 British National Track Championships, winning her second time trial and sprint titles, taking her total to six.
• Later that year, she won a bronze medal in the Team sprint at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
