Born on August 14, 1970, in Oakland, California, Cadogan spent part of his childhood in England, where his father taught on sabbatical. In 1993, Cadogan met Stephan Jenkins at a San Francisco concert, and the two began jamming together, laying the groundwork for Third Eye Blind.
