Davis then attended California State University, Fullerton, where he played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans as an outfielder, designated hitter, and pinch hitter. In his junior season, he hit .328 with 16 home runs and 58 RBIs.

Davis has played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, and Texas Rangers, accumulating a total of 267 home runs and 738 RBIs in his career.
