His big break came in 1978, when he became the host of The Larry King Show, an all-night nationwide call-in radio program on the Mutual Broadcasting System. In addition to his illustrious career, King was known for his personal struggles, including a heart attack in 1987 and a battle with lung cancer in 2017. He was also hospitalized with COVID-19 in 2021, but unfortunately passed away on January 23, 2021, at the age of 87, due to sepsis.
