Gibbons was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority during her university days.
Gibbons's television career took off at WSPATV in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before moving to KFDM-TV in Beaumont, Texas, as the cohost of PM Magazine. Her breakthrough came when she joined WFAA-TV in Dallas, which marked a significant career milestone and garnered her significant media attention.
