Regarded as one of the greatest left wingers in NHL history, Luc Robitaille is a Canadian-American professional ice hockey executive and former player. During his illustrious 19-season NHL career, he won the Stanley Cup in 2001-2002 with the Detroit Red Wings, and played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, but is most known for his 14 seasons over three different stints with the Los Angeles Kings.
Robitaille was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the ninth round, 171st overall, of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. Despite being expected to be drafted late due to his poor skating ability, he went on to prove his doubters wrong, amassing an impressive 155 goals and 269 assists for 424 points in only 197 games during his three-season stint with the Hull Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
After retiring from professional hockey, Robitaille went on to become the president of the Los Angeles Kings. His dedication to the sport and his remarkable achievements on and off the ice have made him a beloved figure in the hockey world.
