His older brother, Honami, played a significant role in shaping his early years, searching online for Nagoya Grampus's U15 team, which led Yoshida to join the team and eventually relocate to Nagoya to attend Toyota High School.
After spending five years at Nagoya Grampus Youth Academy, Yoshida was promoted to the first team in the 2007 season, signing his first professional contract. Initially, he started out as a defensive midfielder but was later converted to a center-back. Yoshida made his debut for the club on May 3, 2007, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 loss against Oita Trinita.

He scored his first goal for the club on November 5, 2007, in a 3-1 win against Thespa Kusatsu in the fourth round of the Emperor's Cup.
