Early Life and Amateur Career

Born on May 19, 1996, in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, Carcone grew up in an athletic family where his older brothers played ice hockey. His father, although not an athlete, owned multiple small glass companies, while his grandfather owned a bar and a pizza restaurant.

Carcone's hockey career began with the Ajax-Pickering Raiders and The Hill Academy before joining the Stouffville Spirit in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). In the 2013-2014 season, he tallied 12 goals and 25 assists through 49 games, catching the attention of scouts.

The Road to the NHL

Although drafted in the 12th round, 196th overall, by the Sioux Falls Stampede in the 2014 United States Hockey League Draft, Carcone returned to the Spirit. A scout from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) saw him play and convinced the Drummondville Voltigeurs to sign him to a major junior contract.

Carcone faced numerous challenges during his rookie season with the Voltigeurs, including a broken thumb, two concussions, and a language barrier. Despite these setbacks, he finished the 2015-2016 season with 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points through 50 games.

He improved significantly in his sophomore season, increasing his point total to 89. Carcone's determination and work ethic caught the attention of NHL organizations, leading to stints with the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Arizona Coyotes.

NHL Breakthrough and Success

Carcone joined the Arizona Coyotes organization and made his NHL debut in late 2021. He continued to play between the AHL and NHL, eventually leading the AHL in scoring during the 2022-2023 season.
