A former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, best known for his time at Scunthorpe United and winning the FA Trophy with Scarborough in 1999.
Peter Harry Winn, born on December 19, 1988, is an English semi-professional footballer who made a name for himself in the football world with his impressive skills as a left winger. He is known for his versatility on the field, playing for various clubs, and earning recognition for his contributions to the sport.
Winn started his career at Scunthorpe United, where he was named the club's Young Player of the Year for the 2006-2007 season. Initially, he played as a goalkeeper, but later shifted to a left winger position at the age of 14. He made his first-team debut at the tender age of 16 as a second-year scholar.
Winn's talent soon got him loaned out to Northwich Victoria and Barrow respectively towards the latter stages of the 2008-2009 season. He then joined Conference Premier club Gateshead on a two-month loan deal, which was later extended until the end of the season. After his return to Scunthorpe, Winn was released and subsequently signed for League Two club Stevenage in 2010.
During his time with Stevenage, Winn helped the club earn promotion to League One in May 2011. The following season, he was loaned to Conference Premier clubs Cambridge United and Grimsby Town. After being released by Stevenage in May 2012, Winn signed for Macclesfield Town of the Conference Premier a month later.
Winn spent two years at Macclesfield Town before signing for divisional rivals Chester in July 2014. He then joined his hometown club, Cleethorpes Town of the Northern Counties East Premier Division, in July 2015, winning the Northern Counties East League Cup in his first season. Winn helped the club to Northern Counties East Premier Division and Lincolnshire Senior Trophy titles, whilst also finishing runner-up in the FA Vase during the 2016-2017 season.
Winn currently plays for Barton Town, having joined the club in July 2019. With his extensive experience and skills, he continues to be an asset to the team. As he continues to play and grow, Winn's future prospects look promising, and he is likely to make a lasting impact on the English football scene.
