Edwards' first foray into radio broadcasting was at KROW Radio in Oakland, California, while still in high school. After graduating in 1931, he worked his way through college at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a B.A. in English in 1935. During his college days, he worked at various radio stations, including KTAB (now KSFO), where he held numerous jobs, from janitor to producer.
Edwards' versatility led to appearances in films like Radio Stars On Parade with Wally Brown and Alan Carney, and I'll Cry Tomorrow with Susan Hayward. Moreover, he hosted the NBC radio children's talent show The Horn and Hardart Children's Hour.
Throughout his illustrious career, Edwards received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to broadcasting. He passed away on November 16, 2005, but his legacy continues to influence modern television programming and entertainment.
