A WWE wrestler known for her powerful moves and charismatic performances, particularly in the women's division.
Raquel Rodriguez is a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional wrestling, known for her impressive accomplishments in the WWE, including being a three-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, one-time NXT Women's Champion, and a record-tying two-time and inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team Champion.
Victoria Gonzlez, better known by her ring name Raquel Rodriguez, was born on January 12, 1991, in La Feria, Texas, to a family of Mexican descent. Growing up, she was an avid fan of professional wrestling, drawing inspiration from legends like Madusa and Lita, as well as her father Rick Gonzlez, who was also a wrestler.
Before pursuing a career in professional wrestling, Gonzlez was a collegiate basketball player, playing for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas and later transferring to Sam Houston State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Mass Communication. She began her wrestling career on the independent circuit in June 2016, eventually signing with the WWE in October of the same year.
Gonzlez made her NXT debut in early 2017, initially performing under her real name before adopting the ring name Reina Gonzlez later that year. In 2020, she changed her ring name to Raquel Gonzlez, which would become synonymous with excellence in the world of women's professional wrestling.
In 2021, she and Dakota Kai won the inaugural Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, later becoming the inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. This achievement marked the beginning of a remarkable run, with Gonzlez going on to win the title again in 2022 for a record-tying second time.
In April 2022, Gonzlez made the leap to the main roster, joining SmackDown with her ring name changed to Raquel Rodriguez. Her success continued unabated, as she won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship once with Aliyah and later twice with Liv Morgan.
Raquel Rodriguez's achievements serve as a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and passion for professional wrestling. As a trailblazer in the WWE, she continues to inspire countless young women and men, paving the way for future generations of wrestling superstars.
Unfortunately, Gonzlez is currently inactive due to suffering from Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Despite this setback, she remains an integral part of the WWE community, and her fans eagerly await her return to the ring.
