Sam Morsy, born Samy Sayed Mekkay Saied Morsy on September 10, 1991, is a professional footballer who has made a name for himself as a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Ipswich Town and the Egypt national team.
The English-born Egyptian footballer began his journey in the world of football at a young age, joining the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy at the age of seven. However, his time at the academy was cut short when he was released at the age of 16.
Undeterred by the setback, Morsy joined the Port Vale youth team setup in 2008, impressing coaches Mark Grew and Andy Porter with his skills and determination. He made his debut for the club in February 2010 and turned professional in the summer of the same year.
Over the next few seasons, Morsy established himself as a key player for Port Vale, helping the club secure promotion out of League Two in the 2012-2013 season.

At Ipswich Town, Morsy has continued to excel, helping the club secure promotion out of League One at the end of the 2022-2023 campaign and captaining the team into the Premier League the following year.
In addition to his club success, Morsy has also represented the Egypt national team, making his debut in 2016.
