Sergei Kostitsyn is a Belarusian professional ice hockey winger, renowned for his exceptional skills on the rink and his journey through various prestigious leagues. Born on March 20, 1987, in Belarus, Sergei followed in the footsteps of his older brother Andrei, also a professional ice hockey player. Sergei excelled in the Belarusian junior hockey program, playing for HK Gomel in 2004-05, where he notched 14 points in 40 games.
Kostitsyn's talents did not go unnoticed, as he was drafted in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens.
