In the 2016-2017 Ranji Trophy season, Goswami registered his career-best score of 227 against Madhya Pradesh, which is the highest by a Bengal keeper. His consistent performances earned him a spot in the Board Presidents XI side for a practice match against Australia in September 2017, where he top-scored with 44 runs.
Goswami's good performances also earned him a spot for India A's ODI series against New Zealand A, although he got limited opportunities. In January 2018, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad and retained by the side for three years.
