Kartal's breakthrough came in 2021 when she won her first ITF Circuit title at the Antalya 15k event, defeating Amarissa Toth in the final. This was followed by her second title on hardcourt at Monastir 15k, where she beat former world No. 40, Ayumi Morita. Kartal's impressive performance continued as she won the women's title at the UK Pro League with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Freya Christie in the final.
In 2022, Kartal's ranking rose significantly, and she made her WTA major debut. She started the year strong, winning her third title at the 25k Birmingham event, defeating compatriot Talia Neilson Gatenby in three sets. Kartal continued her winning streak, securing her second consecutive 25k title in Glasgow, where she beat Czech player Barbora Palicová.
In May 2022, Kartal won two consecutive singles titles in the third and fourth weeks of the 25k Nottingham events, beating Danielle Lao and Joanna Garland in the finals.
