Early Life and High School Career

Born on February 26, 1980, in Florida, Blake began his basketball journey at Miami Killian High School, where he spent his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred to Miami High School, teaming up with future NBA player Udonis Haslem to win consecutive state championships.

However, controversy struck when the Miami New Times exposed the fact that Blake and other players had used fake addresses to enroll in the school. As a result, the Stingarees were forced to forfeit their entire 1998 schedule, and Blake was banned from playing for any public high school in Florida again. Undeterred, Blake attended Oak Hill Academy before enrolling at the University of Maryland.

College Career

At the University of Maryland, Blake's exceptional skills earned him the starting spot from the first game of his freshman year. He went on to become the first ACC player to compile 1,000 points, 800 assists, 400 rebounds, and 200 steals, finishing his career with an impressive 972 assists, fifth in NCAA all-time career assists.

Blake's remarkable court vision and passing ability made him a valuable asset to the Terrapins, helping them reach the Final Four in 2001 and winning the 2002 NCAA championship. Although not as well known for his scoring, Blake averaged 11.6 points per game in his senior year, showcasing his versatility on the court.

NBA Career

Selected by the Washington Wizards with the 38th overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, Blake began his professional basketball journey. Over the course of his 13-year career, he played for several teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, and the Portland Trail Blazers, where he had three separate stints.

Throughout his NBA career, Blake demonstrated his ability to adapt to different teams and playing styles, earning a reputation as a reliable and consistent point guard.
